A retrospective at Moma brings together more than 170 works by Cindy Sherman, one of the most important American artists, recognized and influential on contemporary art. The works on display range from mid-70s to our days. The retrospective includes the series "Untitled Films Stills", black and white images whose protagonist is immersed in the typical female roles of the era of the 50 and 60 in Hollywood. Sherman images are representations of the contemporary identity, constructed so eloquent and provocative. Your inspiration are in general, and especially at the beginning of his career, the images of the television, movies, magazines and art history. During the 30 years of her career, she has been his own model, creating characters using variety of costumes, characters that rub against the bad taste and that create different feelings in the viewer.
